This is a common habit for me in series – finding a strong connection with a powerful supporting character – and Frodo utterly intrigues me. Standalone Frodo book? I definitely read one!

Laila’s involvement in this installment also deepened my investment in her and Matt’s relationship. As more details of their personal lives are shared, I find myself increasingly invested in their journey as a couple. And I’m starting to see hints at the exciting possibility of a privately funded, off-the-books unit, reminiscent of the best fictional black-ops teams.
