Mark Greaney has officially revealed details for the sixteenth installment in his long-running thriller series. Titled Dark Union, the upcoming novel arrives in early 2027 and delivers one of the most personal cases of Court Gentry’s career.

In an exclisive comment to The Real Book Spy, Greaney said “I’ve been working on Dark Union since the moment I finished the last book. I’ll be wrapping up a first draft soon, and I can honestly say this novel is full of intrigue and tension, and it contains the biggest action set pieces I’ve ever written. I can’t wait for Gray Man fans to see it!”

A Personal Recon Mission

Following the events of The Hard Line (Gray Man book 15), Greaney is steering Court into deep personal territory. Court has long operated under the belief that he is the last surviving member of his family. His brother, Chance, was a police officer who lost his life years ago in a line-of-duty shooting.

That reality shatters at their father’s funeral when Court catches a glimpse of a man who looks undeniably like his missing sibling.

The shock sends Court on an urgent search for answers. Is Chance actually alive? If so, who faked his death and why? Court’s quest for the truth quickly puts him in the crosshairs of a dark state network determined to protect its secrets at any cost.

Dark Union: What to Expect

While Court Gentry is used to surviving impossible odds, fighting through deep state cover-ups gets far more complex when family ties are involved. The cover visual hints at a cold, isolated winter setting for this mission, suggesting a harsh atmosphere for Court’s pursuit.
