I just came back from New York City, where my wife and I attended ThrillerFest, the annual conference of the International Thriller Writers Association. This is, I believe, my 13th time going to this conference, and I always have a great time.
I was very busy! I got to meet with my friends from my publisher, Berkley, my agent, and the good folks at Audible. I did a Craft Fast interview with Jordan Moblo, an executive at Universal Studio Group, and was on two panels during the conference. I also got to be the emcee for the awards banquet, which is always fun if a little nerve wracking. I enjoyed hanging out with some of my writer friends, and my wife and I went out for a sushi night, a Greek food night, and a pizza lunch—we always take a culinary world tour when we’re in New York!
Now I’m back in Memphis, hard at work on the next Gray Man book. (Out February of 2027!)
My Recommendation
My recommendation for this month is for a book that people have been recommending to me for years, but one I’ve only just read. Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby is a phenomenal novel. It’s about crime and murder, and the dark underbelly of street justice. I also got to meet Sean (S.A.) Cosby at ThrillerFest and tell him how much I enjoyed his work! He’s written several other books, all with awesome titles. His book All The Sinners Bleed has been made into a Netflix series and it will be out sometime next year, I believe.
