I’ve been reading the Grey Man series for a while now. This being the 12th book in the series. It’s a very enjoyable, action packed, covert assassinating thrill ride. 

The main character, Court Gentry, is a solo operator and each book revolves very centrally around him. He’s both working for the CIA, off book, and being hunted by them after finding his way on to their kill list. Don’t ask, it’s quite the backstory.

I’ve very much enjoyed the exploits of the Grey Man over the years and this book didn’t disappoint. I particularly liked how this book was tied in with current events – the Russian invasion of Ukraine. But at this stage in the series the backstory has been pretty much exhausted anyway and Court is moving into new territory.

This interests me as it offers the opportunity to push the overall series narrative forward in new ways. This book seemed to be assembling some new characters and also tying up lose ends. I want to see where this will now take the series.

But for now, this book was packed with action, thrills, and plenty of violence. But what I like about the Grey Man is that, despite being a freelance assassin for hire, he has a strict moral code. He’s an assassin but essentially still a good guy!
